Who Is Zuza

Heather Merrill, CH is a Certified Hypnotist and Certified Instructor. She dances under the name Zuza.

Heather is well known in the Central Virginia Middle Eastern Dance Community and taught belly dancing for the Department of Parks and Recreation in Colonial Heights, and Richmond Virginia for several years. She is currently bringing her unique teaching style to the Millbrook Exchange Parks and Recreation Center in Raleigh, NC.

For Zuza, improving her students self-esteem and confidence has always been more important to her than the belly dance lesson itself. After all, the most important accessory to any costume is the smile.

One of Zuza's favorite things to do is to bring Middle Eastern dance to those who might not get a chance to see it otherwise. Her great joy in the art is evident to all who attend.

In addition to being available for performances, Zuza also gives private lessons, and teaches costume design and fabrication. Everyone who attends one of her famous sewing parties can attest to how much fun it can be to create a spectacular new look!
